Nagaland a veritable agro-ecological zone

Kohima, December 5 (DIPR): A business meet with Hamriyah Free Zone Authority and the Government of Nagaland was held at the Heritage, Old DC Bungalow on December 5. Minister for Agri Dr. Chumben Mury graced the meet as the chief guest while Director General, HFZA, Government of Sharjah Dr. Rashid Al Leem was the guest of honour.

Addressing the meet, Dr. Chumben said that Nagaland has made tremendous progress in many fronts during the last 47 years especially in the Agri and allied sector. He said that Nagaland is a veritable agro-ecological zone and the biggest resource of the State is fresh products such as timber, cane and bamboo. He mentioned that Nagaland is tailor made for tourism which makes Nagaland highly potential for eco-adventure and cultural tourism. ‘Over the years, Nagaland has increasingly become a preferred investment destination in the country’ he concluded.

Dr. Rashid, while giving a short speech, said that Business is the language of peace and development because it brings people and countries together. He explained that through business, different parties work together and in order it to succeed there needs to be understanding and co-operation amongst each other. He also said that the people of the land should be taken into account in the field of development if the State seeks to achieve more. Dr. Rashid said that one should respond rather than react in order for development to take place.

Different government departments and HFZA presented power point presentation during the meet which was followed by discussion on the presentation.

Advisor for IT&C Vikho-o Yhoshü gave the keynote address while Secretary Information Technology K.T. Sukhalu chaired the programme.
