Alobo Naga: Have you ever imagined Life without UG's in Nagaland? Do you think Indian Govt will give us the privileges that we are getting today? Discuss both the good & bad side effect.
p.s :2 Marks Question so make it brief :)
Samuel Vio: Of course not having UG is what we all dream about, someday soon. But how that will come about is also something to chew upon. It cannot happen in isolation. It would mean a quantum change so your second question might or might not apply then. If you are talking of the UGs simply vanishing into thin air with political status quo in Nagaland, sadly I don't see that happening. If it does then of course lots of things will change and as you are implying not all those changes will be pleasant at first.
Raitu Haralu: Ever wondered, where will we Nagas be if the Japanese won the battle of Kohima. I'm pretty sure we will be under the Burmese military Junta government right now and that would really suck.
Henminlal: We are lucky to be in India, its world status as largest democracy is putting Govt of India in obligation from not suppressing Naga movement militarily. Had we been in Pakistan under Musharaf, Burma under Military junta or Sri Lanka under Sinhala rule, we would have met the same fate like LTTE. We need no UG's, what we need is national Heroes, who shall lead the people in a civil war against our adversaries.
Andy Vee: If you have a bad leg, you limp. If you limp, you need special shoes to walk properly. That leads to many limitations in living progressively.
If you have healthy legs, you don’t limp. If you don’t limp, you don’t need special shoes to walk properly and to live progressively.
Jeshua Nchang: UG? It’s a difficult question but one thing is many people died for our Naga cause so we cannot say no to our UG’s (Past UG’s ). The present UG’s are parasites, with no objective but for money which we can avoid and discard but sorry for those genuine ones.
What profit do we get with these money minded people. What solution? I don’t think GOI respect us for them now they know money can be poured to buy them. So now, instead we are rearing a pampered son to ruin us. Until the UG’s change for good I’m with them maybe GOI to may yield.
Adok Konyak: Had it been public speaking, my jaw would have failed me already because I've posted the same thing so many times; I fear it's a cliche now. Nevertheless let me do it again.:)
Nagaland is strategically too important for India that for the GOI to ignore our interest will be a blunder. Nagaland may be rightly called a 'necessary evil', we do not contribute to nation's economic wealth but GOI needs our land, I repeat again: our land, not the people. China is already strengthening its influence over India, well supported by their "String of Pearls" strategy. I'm not worried about the survival of Nagas after independence because China will take care of us. China will pour in so much wealth that we will be literally enslaved and our land will be used for further expanding their "String of Pearls" circle. And Needless to say, India is aware of that. What I am basically trying to say is: UGs or no UGs, GOI will pour wealth on Nagaland.
Imna Sungit: The fact is, Today’s UG are not the same as yesterdays & yesterday's Indian were not the same as todays.
Anindi: Danl Zek, I agree with you that had the INDIANS not troubled us, the UG’s wouldn’t have come into existence but now the tables have turned. The U.G’s are troubling us more than the INDIANS. Who are the UG’s? They are our own people and so the existing grand scheme of events is that we are githing our own people. We have created our own FRANKENSTEIN. Why 'CRIB' so much about the U.G’s, the enemy is within us my friend, the first person who paid 'taxes' (under duress or under vested interests or whatever) to the U.Gs opened the gates of hell on us. Let’s assume that the UG’s (By some miracle and mad chance) got us our much coveted freedom from our 'apparent enemy' INDIA, do u think they will let the baton pass to the people of Nagaland and offer us a democratic/egalitarian country? They will rule us once again and this time a 'tribal-war' will arise and the fight will be as to 'Which tribe is competent enough to rule'. So UG or no we will be back to what we do best ‘FIGHT’.
Voice of the Younger Generation, Voice of the Sleeping Giants
Ayangla Jamir: The Naga Blog: Voice of the Younger Generation! Voice of the Sleeping Giants!
We just had the post mortem section and readers post in the local daily to voice out our opinion in the past couple of years. We were mute spectators then but the discussions and debates which whee done in the dining tables, TV room etc in our own humble houses has been shifted to a wider arena. We can voice out our opinions whether it is good or bad, whether it is liked by the masses, at least we are not mute spectators now!! We have the tool now, let’s use it to the maximum in a positive way giving opinions without misguiding people, giving opinions so that out narrow mindset gets broader, so that we will have a better tomorrow :)
Rampmaz Fmaz: Exactly! :) It’s been a week or more, that that I am visiting TNB. From a new comer point of view, it is a quality blog, no doubt :) Interesting bloggers, when I say interesting, please don't get the other way around lol. Anyway, the administration are tip top grounded, bloggers slam nerve wrecking issues, ideas, revoking thoughts, criticize & make amends too. The pen is mightier then the sword, it runs the beat of the heart faster, it is stronger than the mighty ocean & our duty is to contribute, share & transform our society 4 the better & not to ignore our present situation. Nevertheless, we are brother & sisters born to create positive waves in every field we touch. Let our identity remains in the heart of Nagaland.
