Nagaland: Workers are seen drilling holes at Chathe River Bridge (Patkai Bridge)...

Workers are seen drilling holes at Chathe River Bridge (Patkai Bridge) on National Highway 29 near Chümoukedima Town on September 5, purportedly to drain out water when it rains heavily. The workers were seen drilling around 6-8 holes. One of the most important and busiest bridges connecting the plain and hill-section of the State, the Bridge is in a dilapidated condition with several potholes on the surface well as deep crevices at both ends of the bridge, severely affecting traffic, particularly during rainfall. Temporary measures like filling up the potholes with stones and other materials only provide ‘relief’ for short span of time. (Morung Photos)
