Over Rs. 4.69 crore collected under Chief Minister Relief Fund

No funds have been received either from the central or other state governments as relief for the recent calamity in Nagaland, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio informed the State Assembly on Tuesday.
However, the relief received from individuals, NGOs under Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) as on September 14 stands at Rs. 4,69,24,536.83 (Rupees four crore, sixty nine lakh, twenty four thousand, five hundred thirty six and eighty three paise only), Rio added.
In a written reply to a question by MLA Muthingnyuba Sangtam on the first day of the 2nd session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) on September 18, the chief minister stated that the amounts received are being used for relief/rehabilitation/ex-gratia to the affected families and to meet the critical gaps not covered under NDRF sanctions.
On being asked details of about 4000 people who were affected by natural calamity, Rio informed that detailed list of affected persons is under compilation by respective districts and the consolidated final list is yet to be received.
“However it may be noted that affected population is much more than 4000 since the whole of Kiphire district, several administrative sub-divisions in all the 11 districts have been severely affected,” Rio stated in a written reply.
