Longleng, August 29 (MExN): A government health centre in Longleng district underwent an external assessment for national certification under the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) programme on August 29.
The assessment of the Tangha Health and Wellness Centre (HWC) was conducted by a team from the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC), New Delhi, in collaboration with the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland.
The evaluation covered multiple service areas, including care in pregnancy & childbirth , childhood and adolescent health care services, family planning, contraceptive services and other reproductive health care services, management of common communicable diseases and outpatient care for acute simple illness and minor ailments, management of communicable diseases including national health programmes, neonatal and infant health care services, screening, prevention, control and management of non-communicable diseases, an official communiqué said.
The assessment was carried out by government assessors, K Dharani Devi and Dr Manish Shekhar.
The initiative aims to ensure health facilities adhere to the highest standards of service delivery, patient safety, and accountability.
The outcome of the assessment is expected to significantly contribute to strengthening healthcare delivery and improving public health services in Longleng district, it was stated.
