Kohima, April 15 (MExN): Nagas in Cambodia (NACAM) held its 20th annual meet from April 12 to 14 at the Cambodia Country Club in capital Phnom Penh, bringing together members of the Naga community from across provinces during the Khmer New Year to celebrate unity and fellowship.
Out of around 100 registered members, 43 adults and 14 children participated in this year’s annual meet, which continues to serve as a vital platform for reconnecting, strengthening relationships, and fostering spiritual growth while celebrating shared identity and faith, a NACAM release stated.
The three-day conference featured a range of activities, including shared meals and fellowship gatherings, contributing to a sense of community among participants. A fellowship service on the second day was led by Besty Panmei, followed by the observance of the Lord’s Supper conducted by Rev Gihuka Swu.
A business session was also held during which new office bearers for the 2026–2028 term were elected. The new team includes Theophilus Gangmei as President, John Khing as Vice President, Kekhriese Kennao as Secretary, and Giang Gonmei as Treasurer.
The final day featured a cultural and recreational segment, including a provincial choir competition, talent show, children’s Bible character presentation, and interactive activities, hosted by Kekhriese Kennao and Rekem Gangmei.
Addressing the gathering, Rev Gihuka Swu encouraged Nagas residing in Cambodia to participate in the annual meet, highlighting its role in fostering unity and fellowship.
