Dimapur, March 22 (MExN): In a gesture of solidarity and deep concern, more than 30 Baptist leaders representing different Churches from across the United States have in a solemn message urged the Naga people to work toward and arrive at a consensus in spite of any obstacles in the way. “Be of good courage, for your faithfulness and courage will be rewarded. This is our earnest plea and prayer”, stated a message received here from leading Church leaders in the US.
“We write today because we sense that God is creating, during this time of cease fire with the Government of India, an opportunity for Nagas to come together to be a witness to the rest of our world that people can overcome differences and stand together as one”, the message signed by thirty two Church leaders stated. The message pointed out that this was a God-given moment and opportunity for reconciliation and unity that could usher in peace. We plead with you not to let such an opportunity slip away, the statement appealed.
