Dimapur, February 26 (DIPR): The Mon District Planning Development Board meeting for the month of February 2012 was held under the chairmanship of M.C. Konyak, Minister for Forest, Environment, Ecology, Wildlife & Excise & Chairman DPDB, Mon, on February 24 at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Mon.
the board reviewed the previous meeting minutes and recommended the following agendas: Purchase of Sumo vehicle under Chief Minister’ Corpus Fund (CMCF), Grant-in-Aid to National Boundary School Shinghah Wamsa village, opening of new YMY College at Mon and recognition of new Wakching Lampong Village. The Board had a lengthy discussion regarding naming of important town roads and Government institutions after the names of prominent leaders of the society as directed by the Government. In this regard, the chairman informed the members that the purpose of naming town roads and Government Institutions is to pay tributes to the prominent leaders who are no more and in recognition of their valuable service rendered to the society, and at the same time it would also encourage the future generation. He also said that by naming the roads the address of a person or a place becomes easy. The board constituted a committee with representatives from the NGOs to identify those prominent leaders of the district. The Chairman directed the committee to submit the list of those important figures of the society along with biography for approval in the next DPDB.
Besides this, the board also discussed in brief about tribal festival, eye medical camp at Mon to be held from October 20 to November 2, 2012. Identifying of place for construction of five markets sheds at Mon town, construction of bridge between Wakching to Aboi via Chingtang village and construction of new road form Wangla to Tizit. The Deputy Commissioner, Mon Angau I Thou informed the HODs that ‘No work no pay’ policy of the Government would be strictly enforced in the district. She also requested the HODs to extend relief to the fire victims of the district and submit to the SDO Civil, Mon. She further informed that membership fees for the officer club is Rs. 1000/- for class-I officer and Rs. 500/- for class-II officer.
S.B. Bosco Chief Manager SBI, Mon also informed the house about the activities of SBI Branch Mon. He informed that SBI Mon is observing Loan recovery week from February 28 to March 10, 2012 and requested the members to give wide awareness to the people for timely recover of bank loans. He further informs that the SBI Mon is adopting one village with good reputation in the district to provide various facilities to that village.
