
DIMAPUR, JUNE 16 (MExN): The Nagaland Assembly Secretarial Staff Association (NASSA) along with the Joint Action Committee (JAC) have decided to temporarily suspend its ongoing agitation for 3 working days with effect from June 17 to 20.
This decision was taken on the request made during a joint meeting of a 7 Member Parliamentary Committee headed by Dr Chotisuh Sazo, MLA with the NASSA and JAC on June 15, informed a press release from the NASSA. The committee reportedly had assured during the meeting that the grievances of NASSA/ JAC shall be addressed positively.
The NASSA however said that the temporary suspension of the agitation shall be enforced on conditions that the appointment order of Dr PJ Antony (retired officer) be revoked during the suspended period; entry of the said officer to the Assembly premises be strictly restricted during the suspended period; and the office of the Principal Secretary, NLA which is being opposed, shall not be functional during the suspended period.
The agitation shall resume if the demand of the NASSA and JAC is not fulfilled during the suspended period, it added.
