‘National party’ is directionless and insensitive: Khekiho

Dimapur April 10 (MExN): Industries & Commerce Minister H Khekiho Zhimomi while pointing out ideological differences between “national party” and “the regional party” maintained that the former is directionless in the context of Nagaland and are least sensitive to local problems. The minister was speaking at the Consultative meeting held at NPF 1 Dimapur I A/C office April 8 according to a report capsule received from General Secretary LR Anthony. 

According to the report capsule, Minister Zhimomi while maintaining that “national party” are directionless in the context of Nagaland “for they are guided by the leaders at the center who are either least known or sensitive to the local problems” also warned party workers to be alert and ready to take on “the national force” in the political field.

He expressed faith that surrendering to “the national party” was compromising the identity of the Nagas and integrity “for we get diluted in the vast political setup where local problems and issues concerning every community is either forgotten or least addressed” according to the NPF Dimapur release.

Referring to Dimapur, Zhimomi said that it was the “corridor” to every activity in Nagaland and in this regard establishing a network at the ward level to have a firm hold was the need of the hour to bring the aspirations of the people to “the limelight.”

It was also informed that Parliamentary Secretary for Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Y Hewoto Awomi spoke at the occasion where he expressed appreciation at the initiative taken by Minister Khekiho for the “regional family” meet for the betterment of the party. Awomi while lauding the DAN-government led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio also said he was proud of the government for “it deliver goods to the people”.

Claiming that some of the constituencies ‘does not have NPF legislators but gain strength to strength as days passes’, Awomi urged the workers of Dimapur I A/C to work united. He also advised the division to take up similar interaction programme and carry forward even to the A/C level, which the release stated was also endorsed by the minister. 

Earlier in the programme Vitzole, Working President, women wing A/ I pronounced the invocation and Hokuto Zhimomi in his introductory speech highlighted the progress and problems of the A/C which also were the core issues of the interaction. DP Angami, Deputy Chairperson DMC, and Atomi Zhimomi, Central Youth Spokesperson, Vitzole and Meguzetou were among those who spoke on the occasion.
