Kohima | July 31

The Northern Angami Women Organisation (NAWO) is organising a ‘peaceful rally’ and submission of memorandum on August 2 at Razhü Point, Kohima to demand justice over the recent alleged attempted rape and murder case. The incident occurred on July 16 and currently the accused is under police custody.  Condemning the ‘grave and inhumane’ act, NAWO stated it will submit a memorandum to the District Administration, Kohima to demand justice. It also urged that the accused be prosecuted and punished under the appropriate provisions of the law. NAWO has also called upon all concerned citizens to join in solidarity and support the cause of justice for the safety and security of the womenfolk. A brief programme will be held at Razhü Point, following which it will march to the Deputy Commissioner’s office to submit a memorandum.
