NAYO voices concern over soil dumping along NH-2 stretch

Kohima, September 3 (MExN): The Northern Angami Youth Organisation (NAYO) on Friday issued a communiqué in view of the random dumping of soil along the stretch of National Highway (NH-2) from Kohima to Botsa.

“With the onset of monsoon, the dumping of soil on the roadside of the National Highway is leading to water logging on the road thus making driving/travelling dangerous and unpleasant,” the NAYO stated.

While acknowledging that it is the ‘exclusive rights’ of landowners along the National Highway to undertake any work on the roadside, the Organisation also underscored that such actions should not affect the travelers/motorists plying on the road. In this regard, the NAYO requested the concerned department to look in to the matter immediately for the safety of the citizens.
