Dimapur, February 13 (MExN): The Nikhil Bharat Banga Sahitya Sammelan (All India Bengali Literary Conference), Dimapur Branch organised a general meeting on February 12 at the Pranab Jubilee Auditorium, Dimapur.
On the occasion, a new committee was nominated after dissolving the previous one with effect from February 12, in the presence of Anil Kumar Dhar, All India General Secretary, Bidhan Debroy, President State Committee, Kamala Kanta Paul, President Bengali Samaj, Dimapur and a host of dignitaries and members.
In the meeting, Monoj Bhattacharjee was elected as the President of the newly formed committee along with other office bearers, it informed in a press release.
As per the release, Nikhil Bharat Banga Shitya Sammelan (NBBSS) was established in the year 1923 at Banaras under the President ship of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore and renowned Poet and Lyricist Atul Prasad Sen and many others Bengalis stalwarts. The said organisation has more than 120 branches with 12000 members all over India and this year, it has completed its journey of hundredth year, it added.
