Mat weavers along with resource persons during mat weaving training- cum –demonstration, organized by the Nagaland Bamboo Mission and held at Longpayimsen under Mokokchung district.
Dimapur, July 15 (MExN): The Nagaland Bamboo Mission conducted two days ‘Mat Weaving training- cum –demonstration’ on July 12 and 13 at Longpayimsen under Mokokchung district. In a press note issued by M Kichung Phom, Nagaland Bamboo Mission stated that the training was conducted for furtherance of mat production and supply which at present demand is 30,000 mats per month. It was also mentioned that the sole supplier at present is Tuli Mat Cluster and is presently supplied to APIL Arunachal, TIMPACT Shillong and Nano Steel Guwahati. The training was conducted for Tsurangkong mat cluster consisting of Longpayimsen, Watiyim, Medemyim and Moayimti. The resource people for training were mat master trainers from Ilenden Tuli.
