Kohima, January 3 (MExN): The Nagaland Chess Association (NCA) has commended Jeremy Nitova Zhimomi for his outstanding achievement and for becoming the youngest Fide Rated player from Nagaland.
“His achievement is a great boost and a proud moment to all the Nagaland chess players as well as the NCA,” stated Vekukho Soho, Honorary Secretary, NCA.
Jeremy has been coached by Dipankar N Gosh.
8 years Jeremy has achieved a Fide Standard Rating of 1420 on January 1, 2025 and became the historic youngest player from Nagaland to achieve Fide Standard Rating.
Fide (World Chess Federation) awarded the Rating to him for his outstanding performance during the 23rd North Eastern States Chess Championship 2025 held in the month of December 2025 at Aizawl, Mizoram.
It was his debut in the Rated Tournament, yet he was paired against six strong rated opponents with ratings of 1671, 1666, 1634, 1538, and 1445, along with an unrated Player.
Despite the odds, he scored 3.5 points, NCA stated.
