Dimapur, August 5 (MExN): The Naga Council Dimapur (NCD), with the approval of its Councilors in the General Body meeting held on July 29 has constituted a nominating committee to select a new team of office bearers for the tenure 2025-2030.
The appointment was made by the NCD President in consultation with the Executive Council and in exercise of the powers conferred under Article 8, Clause (o) of the NCD Constitution, informed a press release from the Council.
The committee comprises five senior and experienced Councilors representing various zones and federating units.
Hokuto Zhimomi, Councilor from CNTC Zone, will serve as Chairman while Sachutho Pojar, Councilor from Tenyimi Zone, has been designated as Member Secretary.
The other members include Rutsangkiu, Councilor from ENPO Zone; A Anthony, Councilor from South Naga Zone; and Zasivikho Zakiesato, President of DUCCF and Councilor representing Federating Units CSO.
The nominating committee has been entrusted with the task of selecting the new office bearers and is authorised to exercise full powers as per Article 8 of the Constitution, stated the release issued by the NCD President Etsungmomo Kikon and General Secretary LK Peter Anal.
The decisions of the committee will be legally final and binding, it said.
The committee has been tasked to select the NCD office bearers from among the Councilors of the tenures 2020–2025 and 2025–2030 for the posts specified under Article 8, Clause (e).
The selection process is to be completed on or before August 10 to facilitate arrangements for the installation and induction ceremony of the new team, it added.
