Dimapur, March 10 (MExN): The President of State Nationalist Congress Party, Neiba Ndang has congratulated Neiphiu Rio on his success to assume the office of the State chief minister for a third consecutive term. He also expressed hope that under his leadership the DAN-III government would be able to deliver goods to the people and bring progress and development in all fronts.
A press note stated that the NCP had offered their support to the DAN government although no official intimation has been received on their acceptance to be in the treasury bench.
The NCP has assured all possible support to the government if taken into confidence and accommodated into the treasury bench. However, the NCP president also stated that even if the offer is not accepted, the party would happily accept a seat in the opposition and play a constructive role to ensure that government does justice and protect the people.
The NCP president has extended gratitude to all the supporters, particularly from 6 Tening Assembly Constituency during the recently held State general election. He has also thanked the people who supported NCP candidates in Nagaland, while adding that it was because of their support that four NCP candidates were elected out of the total 14 candidates fielded for the election.
He stated that the support and mandate given to the party would not be forgotten and that the people’s aspiration would be met by the party. While noting that the party had comparatively done well in the last election, the NCP president said that the party could have won more seats “if not for some obvious reasons.” He further expressed hope that the party would do better in the coming elections.
