NDPP Legislature Party endorses CM Rio to form new Nagaland govt

DIMAPUR, MARCH 3 (MExN): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Legislature Party of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) unanimously elected Neiphiu Rio as leader of the NDPP Legislature Party, and endorsed him to take the prerogative of forming the new government. 

This was resolved during the NDPP Legislature Party’s first meeting after the Nagaland Assembly Elections at the NDPP Central Office in Kohima on March 3. 

A press release from the NDPP media and communication committee informed that the meeting was chaired by the party’s Secretary General Abu Metha. Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and NDPP President Chingwang Konyak congratulated and welcomed all the newly elected NDPP members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly. He “encouraged all members to work tirelessly for the people and fulfill the commitments made during the entire campaign period based on the party manifesto.” 

The NDPPLP meanwhile conveyed its gratitude to all the electorates of Nagaland “for once again reposing their faith and confidence on the NDPP and the leadership of Neiphiu Rio, the Chief Minister by electing us as their respective representatives to the 14th NLA.” 

The party resolved to “work with the vision for peace and development and take Nagaland towards a state of excellence.”
