NDRF Chiechama joins mission to plant 1 lakh trees

Chiechama, June 30 (MExN): A plantation drive was organised by Regional Response Centre (RRC), National Disaster Response Force (12th-NDRF), Chiechama in collaboration with Fire & Emergency Service and Chiechama Village Youth Organization (CVYO) on June 30. 

A press release received here satted that Keneingusa Rüpreo, President, CVYO chaired the function. 

Introduction of plantation drive was shared by P Nupajao Singh, Deputy Commandant, 12th NDRF. He stated that the purpose of the plantation drive was to protect the surrounding environment by planting more trees. Basing on the motto of the NDRF ‘saving lives and beyond’, he stressed that organizing this Plantation Drive can save lives by saving the environment. He also stated the drive was part of the 12th NDRF’s mission to plant 1 lakh trees. He also shared about the mitigation of disaster, technique and timely intervention.

Mhalezolie Metha, Chairman, Village Council Chiechama shared appreciation to the NDRF and Fire & Emergency Services, Nagaland for inviting the village council to be a part of this initiative and extended cooperation of the village council in future endeavours.

Neilasa Sopfü, Inspector General, Fire & Emergency Services, Nagaland stated the purpose and mission of the NDRF and impressed upon the history and importance of setting up of the RRC and REMTI (Regional Emergency Management Training Institute) in the state for mitigation and tackling natural disasters and also imparting training, awareness to the public on disaster management. 

Neiketou Metsieo, Associate Pastor, Chiecha Basa Baptist Church said prayer for the success of the plantation drive and other related future activities to be undertaken at the site.
