The 12th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) conducted a comprehensive earthquake rescue awareness programme at Zunheboto Government College on February 28.

As part of the initiative, NDRF personnel carried out live demonstrations of specialised rescue techniques, including search-and-rescue operations, victim evacuation and first-aid administration.
These exercises were designed to provide practical training and equip participants with critical life-saving skills essential for effective emergency response during seismic events.

The event was witnessed by senior district administrative officials, police personnel, and students, who actively engaged in the programme. Officials emphasised the importance of community readiness and a well-coordinated response to minimize casualties and damage in earthquake-prone regions.

An interactive session followed the demonstrations, allowing participants to engage with NDRF experts on disaster mitigation strategies.
