‘NE Singing Superstar’ hopeful seeks the people’s support

After ‘Chota Don’ Remo Ghosh, it’s the turn of another youngster from Dimapur to make an impact in the Hindi music scene. Singing sensation from Nagaland Nikato Sumi, who has secured a place in the final eight of talent hunt contest NE Wave: ‘Northeast Ke Singing Superstar’ is seeking the support of the people of Nagaland in the lead up to the final leg of the competition. He was selected during auditions held at Guwahati in the month of January. Billed as the biggest talent show of the region, it is being organized by the North Eastern Council at Guwahati.
Five talents from Nagaland - Ricky Chishi, Smita Das, Pankaj Thapa, Prem Rawat and Nikato Sumi had auditioned alongwith other aspiring contestants from the eight states of the north east, which was held on January 18. During the competition held to select the best talent from the eight states, Nikato Sumi won from Nagaland, while Prem Rawat was the runner-up. Sumi was also awarded Rs. 25000 and entered the final rounds.
Interacting with the local media today in Dimapur, an optimistic Nikato said he is well prepared for the contest, at the same time needs the support of the people. The fate of the competitors in the final phase will be decided through public voting. The final rounds of the contest will be telecast on NE TV in August.
