Lumami, November 14 (MExN): The group-stage matches of the NE Zone Men’s Football Tournament concluded with four teams securing their places in the semifinal—Nagaland University (NU), Dhanamanjuri University (DMU), National Sports University (NSU), and Dibrugarh University (DU).
In the day’s matches, DU edged NU 2-1, while NSU triumphed over DMU by the same scoreline. However, NU defeated the defending champions, NSU, 1-0, to book their spot in the final. The final match of the day saw DMU and DU play to a 1-1 draw, which was enough for both teams to progress.
The final will take place on November 15, with NSU facing Dibrugarh University at 8:00 AM, followed by Nagaland University vs Dhanamanjuri University at 11:00 AM.
Meanwhile, Organizing Secretary Dr Harish Kumar Tiwari congratulated all teams on their performances and thanked the local organizers and fans for their support.
