The North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd (NEDFi), Kohima Branch, in association with the Society of Aborigines, Zunheboto, organised the Business Meet 2026 at the NPF Conference Hall, Alahuto, Zunheboto, on June 12.
Speaking during the programme, Kikheto Muru, President of the Zunheboto Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ZCCI), highlighted the current business scenario in the district. “Local market has witnessed a decline in recent years, particularly among resellers, due to changing market trends and consumer preferences,” Muru observed.
Muru stressed the importance of promoting organic and locally-based enterprises and encouraged the youth to venture into innovative sectors rather than following already saturated business models. He urged aspiring entrepreneurs to conduct proper market studies before investing in any venture and emphasized the need to support individuals exploring new business avenues.

He further called upon the younger generation to adopt a positive approach towards people from diverse backgrounds, irrespective of their social or economic status, stating that cooperation and mutual support are essential for a healthy business ecosystem and community growth.
EAC Headquarters, Zunheboto, Akumlong Amer, also delivered a short speech, encouraging participants to make productive use of the opportunities and support systems available for entrepreneurship and self-employment.
In his address, K Jianthailung, Branch Manager of NEDFi Kohima, emphasized the importance of creating platforms for young entrepreneurs and startups. “Access to financial support and guidance can help aspiring business owners transform their ideas into sustainable enterprises and build successful careers in the business sector,” he stated.
The programme was chaired by Tavinto K Sumi, while the invocation was pronounced by Rev. Inakhu Sumi, Pastor of Zunheboto Town Baptist Church. Branch Manager, NEDFi Kohima, K. Jianthailung, delivered the welcome address and later spoke on loan processes and documentation. Executive Officer, NEDFi, Vikethozo Kulnu, presented various NEDFi schemes and GST 2.0 initiatives available for entrepreneurs and business establishments.
The programme concluded with an interactive query session, followed by one-on-one interactions between NEDFi officials and entrepreneurs, providing participants an opportunity to seek clarifications on financing, business development, and entrepreneurship-related schemes.
