NEHU’s Non-Teaching Staff launches non-cooperation movement against VC

Shillong, November 14 (MExN): The North Eastern Hill University Non-Teaching Staff Association (NEHUNSA) has launched a non-cooperation movement against Vice Chancellor Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla on the “advice of the agitating students.”

In this connection, NEHUNSA has resolved that all its members will not participate in any meetings, directives, or policy decisions issued by the VC, stated a press release from Association President Dr. WR Synrem and General Secretary JP Nongbri.
It further directed all faculty holding administrative posts, such as Assistant Registrar In-charge, to comply with the resolution of NEHUNSA.

Meanwhile, the Association appealed to both Prof SM Sungoh and Prof Fameline K. Marak not to accept their positions as Pro-Vice Chancellors of NEHU Shillong and Tura Campus, respectively, terming their appointments as a 'last-ditch effort' by the VC to save his chair."

Protesting students at NEHU, demanding the resignation of the VC, have also rejected the appointments. According to reports, both professors have declined their appointments.
