NEIDA builds Kapamodzu Agri input outlet in Pfutsero

Kapamodzu Agri & Allied Farmers Cooperative Society Agri Input Outlet was inaugurated today at Pfutsero under Phek District. The outlet is funded by NEIDA- an Initiative of Tata Trust and promoted by Chakhesang Women Welfare Society.

Mhathung Khuvung, Branch Manager Nagaland State Cooperative Bank Pfutsero Branch inaugurated the outlet.

In his address, Khuvung congratulated the Kapamodzu Cooperative Society on starting the outlet and also expressed his appreciation to CWWS and NEIDA for successful partnership with the farmers which led to initiation of the outlet.

He also encouraged the Cooperative Society and farmers to avail credit facilities from financial institutions; to approach Nagaland State Cooperative Bank which was established mainly to give credit services to farmers cooperatives in the state.

Nezelu Nyekha, Executive Director (Acting) CWWS, encouraged farmers to take full advantage of the outlet facility to grow; to think not only of selling the improved seeds but also to sell their good variety local seeds and become the seed exchanging point for farmers from different villages and blocks.

She also emphasised that farmers being the primary care-takers of the soil should give importance to its management by applying healthy management practices recommended.

The outlet as farmers service delivery point will sell cultivation inputs which are in demand by farmers such as seeds, tools, implements, organic pests and diseases management items.
