Dimapur, September 22 (MExN): The NEIMUN Foundation announced the 10th edition of the North East India International Model United Nations (NEIMUN) will be held from October 24 to 26, at Tetso College here.
Marking a decade since its inception, NEIMUN 2025 will focus on the theme ‘Youth, Peace, and Security,’ drawing inspiration from the UN Security Council Resolution 2250, a statement said.
The conference will explore the role of young people in addressing issues such as conflict, poverty, drug abuse, small arms trade, and climate change, it said.
The event is expected to see participation from approximately 200 delegates aged between 16 and 25, including students and young professionals, with a special focus on inclusivity and representation from all eight Northeastern states.
“NEIMUN is more than a Model UN – it is a movement empowering youth voices in the Northeast. As we enter our 10th edition, we celebrate a decade of impact while nurturing the next generation of global changemakers,” Kevithuto Neikha, Secretary-General of NEIMUN 2025.
The conference will follow the UN4MUN format, closely replicating actual UN processes, and will also feature a parallel UNA-USA-style committee for experienced delegates.
The NEIMUN Foundation, established in 2023, also supports ongoing youth engagement through its MUN Clubs initiative.
