Kohima, December 11 (MExN): The North East Region Freedom Fighter’s Successor’s Organisation (NERFFSO) has submitted a memorandum seeking construction of road around Kohima in memory of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose to the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi through the Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya on December 11 at Raj Bhavan, Kohima.
In the memorandum, the NERFFSO suggested that in memory of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose a road may be constructed as “British Road” on the western side of Kohima starting from New Secretariat to Forest Colony via High Court at Merema, Naga Hospital and Paramedical Colony. It further suggested that another road on the Eastern side of the town name “Japanese Road” could be constructed from Arudura Hill to BSF camp via Lerie, Chandmari and Sikhazou.
The Organisation stated that such projects will strengthen Indo-Japanese and Indo-British ties as well. The Governor has assured the NERFFSO to forward the letter to the Prime Minster, a press release from PRO to Governor informed.
