DIMAPUR, JANUARY 15 (MExN): The New Changsu Village Baptist Church celebrated its Platinum Jubilee from January 13 to 15 under the theme ‘Let your light shine’ taking reference from Matthew 5:16.
On January 15 morning, the programme started with R Zanbemo Kithan, Pastor, Yikhum Baptist Church invoking God's blessings, after which Rev Dr Benry Lotha, Sr Pastor, Kohima Lotha Baptist Church leading a prayer in remembrance of those who have passed away.
Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton brought jubilee greetings to the congregation and to the people of the village. In his short speech, Patton said that the Church has reached such a milestone because of some pioneers who had taken the pain and sufferings “so, we should live in such a way that their sacrifices does not go in vain.”
He also told the congregation that jubilee is a time for forgiveness and reconciliation and therefore urged them to let bygones be bygones and to let peace and harmony take over.
The Deputy CM also said that he was fortunate to be an in law of New Changsu village and thanked them for all the love and affection shown to him, and further wished that bountiful Jubilee blessings be upon each and every individual and household.
Rev Dr Ezamo Murry, Executive Secretary of LBCA (R), dwelled on the word of God saying that only the light of Jesus Christ can bring changes in our lives.
He was speaking on the topic, ‘Let the light of Christ bring change in your life.’
The programme was enlivened by special songs presented by the Jubilee Choir and Changsu Yanthan Wokha Town Eloe Okho.
Rev LK Tsanglao, Pastor, Longsa Baptist Church prayed for God's blessings upon the village and the church, while Rev Monglio Ngullie, Pastor, Pangti Baptist Church pronounced the benediction.
