New twist to DHEP union standoff: ‘Court didn’t pass legitimacy order’

Dimapur, Oct 3 (MExN): Adding a new twist to the claims and counter-claims of the two sets of ‘executive body’ of the DHEP Land Owners’ Union, Wokha,  wrangling over which is the ‘legitimate’ executive, the one led by Wochamo Ngullie has informed that the Guwahati High Court Kohima Bench order of September 5 shall not be given to effect until further order. Mention may be made here that the High Court had recently issued an order purportedly ruling in favor of the ‘executives’ led by Mozamo Ngullie as ‘legitimate’.

Informing that the September 22 order of the court is returnable within four weeks and that it is notified that the September 5 order shall not be given effect until further notice, Wochamo Ngullie in a release stated that the High Court has not given any ruling so far.

“The High court has not given any ruling so far. Mr O Mozamo Ngullie and others had misled and misguided his lawyers in a big way; it is ridiculous to say that honorable High Court has given ruling in this matter without true picture at this stage” a release issued by Wochamo Ngullie and Bijamo Yanthan stated. It expressed surprise since Mozamo, and four others as well, is not even a member or office-bearer of the union. “…how he could become president of LOU and so when and where he was elected as LOU president DHEP Doyang, Wokha, Nagaland? Mr O Mozamo Ngullie has not even an inch of land donated by him at DHEP NEEPCO Ltd. Project Doyang. Therefore, Mr Mozamo (is asked) not to speak of becoming president of Land Owners Union (LOU) DHEP. He has no right to be a LOU member even” stated the release while adding that the order date June 24, 2006 passed by ADC (J) Court, Wokha, has not been stayed.
