Mokokchung, March 3 (DIPR): Vikuto village under Mangkolemba sub-division of Mokokchung district, which received State government recognition on February 3, 2012, was formally inaugurated on March 2. With this total number of government recognized village under Mangkolemba sub- division has gone up to 38 villages. The new village was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi as the Chief Guest by unveiling the monolith of the village.
In her inaugural speech, Lithrongla urged upon the new villagers to maintain cordial relations with their neighboring villages and uphold tenaciously the tradition of helping each other with a sense of responsibilities. The Deputy Commissioner also requested all heads of office of different departments to extend all possible help towards Vikuto village saying that it has received government recognition only on 3rd February 2012. She also assured the new villagers to look into their urgent needs of development of the village.
The inaugural function was also addressed by Sumi hoho Representative, Chairman, Northern Sumi Hoho, President Tsurangkong Range and Council members of neighboring Villages. Earlier Head Gaon Bora of Vikuto Village, Inato Awomi delivered the welcome address.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mangkolemba, Temsu Longkumer, who had taken the first step for government recognition of Vikuto village, also addressed the inaugural function.
