Carrying of arms prohibited in Dimapur
Dimapur, January 24 (MExN): As per the Election Commission of India directive to ensure peaceful, free and fair poll during the general election, the Dimapur Commissioner of Police Limasunep Jamir has passed an order prohibiting any person from carrying arms (firearms, machete/daos, clubs, spears, explosives, catapults or any other articles designed or adopted as weapon for offence or defence) in their possession within Dimapur District with immediate effect. The order is passed ex-parte due to emergent exigencies and shall remain in force till further notice, Jamir added.
Licence holders asked to deposit arms
Dimapur, January 24 (MExN): Dimapur Commissioner of Police has asked all arms licence holders to deposit their licensed arms to the nearest Police Station without fail on or before February 10. Failure to comply with this order shall invite prosecution of the licence holder under the Arms Act, 1959 and may lead to cancellation of their arms licence, a press release stated. The order is as per the directive of the Election Commission of India for peaceful, free and fair poll during the general elections, it added.
NSCN (R) recovers bike
Dimapur, January 24 (MExN): The UT-1 of the NSCN/GPRN (Reformation) recovered a two wheeler Pulsar (black color) bearing Chassis No. MO2A11CZ4CZ4GRC26868, and Engine No. DHZRGC77348. Kohima, January 24 (DIPR): In continuation to the Department of School Education’s press release of event no. dated 09/01/2018, all interested State Cadre Graduate Teachers and Primary Teachers serving under School Education Department who have submitted their educational documents for upgradation during the first phase i.e., 2014 are hereby informed to resubmit fresh application for the second phase on or before 05/02/2018.Documents should be submitted to the Director (HSS).
Unidentified body found
Dimapur, January 24 (MExN): A body of an unidentified non local male was found below Millennium building in Marwaripatti, Dimapur on January 22 morning. A press release from the Dimapur Police informed that necessary formalities were observed and that the dead body was forwarded to district hospital morgue for identification.
NSCN (IM) condoles
Dimapur, January 24 (MExN): The Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) has stated that it is deeply grieved by the untimely demise of V. Kughavi Achumi who passed away on January 24 at Civil Hospital, Dimapur after a prolonged illness. A condolence message from the MIP informed that late Achumi joined the national service on November 23, 1993 and added that he remained “loyal and dedicated to the national service” until his demise as an Under Secretary in the Ministry of Kilo Affairs. “His sacrificial service for the national cause shall ever be cherished,” the GPRN stated while extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.
DC Kohima direct HODs & staff
Kohima, January 24 (DIPR): The Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan IAS has issued an order directing all HODs and staff of various departments under Kohima district to attend the 69th Republic Day celebration on January 26 at Nagaland Secretariat Plaza, Kohima without fail. The order also stated that attendance of HOD's shall be taken at the venue and action shall be initiated against the absentees.
Nagaland to observe National Voters’ Day
Kohima, January 24 (MExN): Nagaland along with the rest of the country will be observing 8th National Voters’ Day 2018 under the theme “Accessible Elections” on January 25 at 11:00 AM at Capital Convention Centre, Kohima. Nagaland’s chief secretary Pankaj Kumar will be the chief guest. Perspective and background of the observance of the day will be given by Abhijit Sinha, IAS, Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland. The programme will witness administering NVD pledge, introduction of icons, talk on “My Vision for a clean election,” launching and playing of SVEEP anthem on clean election, presentation of EPICs and NVD badges to new voters and millennium voters, etc.
