CM wishes on Republic Day

Kohima, January 25 (MExN): Chief Minister of Nagaland TR Zeliang has extended warm greetings to the people of the State on the occasion of the 69th Republic Day of India. On this day, he said, “India became independent republic country and the Constitution of India came into effect with the declaration that India is sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic republic, assuring its citizens of justice, equality and liberty, and endeavors to promote fraternity among them.” In a press release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office, Zeliang urged to “specially remember the sacrifices and contributions of our founding fathers and great leaders of the country.”  

DC Kohima direct HODs & staff

Kohima, January 25 (DIPR): The Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan (IAS) has issued an order directing all HODs and staff of various departments under Kohima district to attend the 69th Republic Day celebration on January 26 at Nagaland Secretariat Plaza, Kohima without fail. The order also stated that attendance of HODs shall be taken at the venue and action shall be initiated against the absentees.  

Free cataract surgery camp in Zunheboto

Zunheboto, January 25 (MExN): Chief Medical Officer of Zunheboto, Dr. G Hokishe Sema has informed that free cataract surgery camp will be conducted at Hezukhu Memorial District Hospital, Zunheboto from January 29 to February 1. Organized by National Programme for Control of Blindness, Nagaland, the surgery will be carried out by eye specialist (Surgeon) from Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) and NPCB Directorate.  

One resigns from Congress

Kohima, January 25 (MExN): SK James, Member PCC from 60 Pungro-Kiphire Assembly Constituency has resigned from both primary and active membership of the Indian National Congress. In a resignation letter to the president of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), James said he resigned from the party “due to my personal technical problem.”  

BJP tours Tamlu

Longleng, January 25 (MExN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Longleng district unit toured 49th Tamlu A/C in Longleng district on January 22 and 23 and held public consultative meeting with the village councils of Bura Namsang, Nyang, Chingsang, Michong and Yongam Villages.  The five-member team was led by President B. Ajoy Phom. During the meeting, the team stressed on electing good leaders who would help lead the public in the right direction. The team also assured that the forthcoming 13th Nagaland General State Assembly Election would be peaceful, harmonious, and free and fair.
