Kohima, August 1 (MExN): The Nagaland Football Association (NFA) has announced that the 25th edition of the Dr T Ao Inter-District Football Championship will be held in Mokokchung from October 12 to 31 this year.
The announcement was made during the NFA Annual General Body Meeting 2026, held at the association's office in Kohima on July 31 under the chairmanship of NFA President K Neibou Sekhose.
Representatives of 15 of the association's 17 affiliated District Football Associations (DFAs) attended the meeting.
In his opening remarks, Sekhose appreciated the district associations that had organised their district leagues and those preparing to do so. He also acknowledged the support extended by the DFAs and the state government in ensuring a successful football season in Nagaland.
He said registrations for the Dr T Ao Inter-District Football Championship would close by the end of September to facilitate timely completion of formalities and called on all district associations to extend their cooperation and participate actively in making the silver jubilee edition of the tournament a success.
During the meeting, members unanimously approved the Nagaland Super League (NSL) Charter governing the league's Governing Council and Management Committee, which has been framed in accordance with the regulations of the All India Football Federation (AIFF).
The association also formally approved Wokha District Football Association's proposal to host the sixth Nagaland Futsal Club Championship in 2027.
The NFA further directed all district football associations to observe "Futsal Day" in their respective districts on August 15 in accordance with AIFF directives.
