NFHRCC appeals to ‘revamp & reactivate’ representation

Dimapur, May 25 (MExN): The Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has resolved to appeal to the constituent apex tribal bodies to “revamp and reactivate the redundant representatives as it was observed that some esteemed members participation in the committees proceedings were persistently irregular resulting in creating communication gap at the grassroots level which is unhealthy for such historic people’s survival project as well as for the committee’s confidence and integrity.”

This was stated in a press release from NFHRCC Convener, Supu Jamir, General Secretary, W Lemba Chang and Secretary, Chenithung Humtsoe.

The above was decided at an emergency meeting of the NFHRCC on May 25 in Dimapur.

The Committee also resolved to “acknowledge with gratitude the Zeliang People’s Organisation(ZPO) in obtaining ‘No Objection Certificate’ to provide free land without any compensations at the same yardstick to the other tribal  free land donors to the Government to expedite in making the project a success in Peren District.”

The NFHRCC thanked the contractor of the Doyang Bridge at Governor’s camp, Liphanyan, Wokha District, M/S L. Pukhato Shohe & Sons for “continuing the construction of the bridge as agreed upon” and urged them to “complete it by the year end as desired by the people.”

It also thanked Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, for ‘personally intervening’ in “upgrading the foothill road to that of a two lane Expressway under MORTH.” The NFHRCC hoped the construction work “starts at the earliest as per the NH specifications.”
