Dimapur, March 6 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has extended the services of a weekly special train between Amritsar and New Jalpaiguri and will also operate a one-way special train between Guwahati and Delhi to accommodate additional passenger demand during the festive season.
According to a press release from the NFR Chief Public Relations Officer, the services of train No. 04654/04653 (Amritsar–New Jalpaiguri–Amritsar) weekly special have been extended for four additional trips in both directions.
Train No. 04654 (Amritsar–New Jalpaiguri) weekly special will run every Wednesday from March 4 to March 25, 2026. In the return direction, train No. 04653 (New Jalpaiguri–Amritsar) weekly special will run every Friday from March 6 to March 27, 2026. The train will operate with the existing schedule, timings, composition and stoppages.
In addition, a one-way special train, No. 05699 (Guwahati–Delhi), will operate on March 8, 2026. The train will depart from Guwahati at 21:30 hours and is scheduled to reach Delhi at 13:00 hours on March 10.
En route, the train will halt at several stations including Rangiya, New Jalpaiguri, Begusarai, Chhapra, Varanasi and Prayagraj Junction, among other stoppages. It will run with a composition of AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier, Sleeper Class and General coaches.
