NFR maintains steady progress in freight loading 

DIMAPUR, MAY 10 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) on Wednesday said it has been constantly progressing in freight loading and has loaded 0.960 million tonnes (MT) during the month of April, 2023. N. F. Railway has loaded 11.98 MT of freight in last financial year 2022-23. 

This is an increase of 15.19% as compared to the loading of 10.40 MT during the financial year 2021-22, a press release issued by Chief Public Relations Officer, Sabyasachi De highlighted. 

During the month of April, 2023, food grain loading increased by 156.4 % and loading of few other commodities also increased by a good margin in comparison to corresponding period of the previous year. During the month, dolomite loading increased by 26.8% and loading of other commodities increased by 12.3%. 

In a noteworthy performance, all the divisions under the jurisdiction of NFR have achieved progress in loading which in turn has generated a remarkable amount of goods revenue during the last financial year, it stated. 

The increase in freight loading signifies the economic activities of the region. Speedy execution of doubling works at important sections over N.F. Railway has result in increase movement of essential & other commodities in addition growth in freight loading.
