NFR observes Ambedkar’s 135th birth anniversary at Maligaon HQ

Maligaon, April 16 (MExN): The 135th birth anniversary of B R Ambedkar was observed on Thursday at the Dr Bhupen Hazarika Sabha Griha in the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) headquarters complex. 

Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway, along with other officials, paid homage by lighting a lamp and offering floral tributes to the portrait of Ambedkar, widely regarded as the architect of the Indian Constitution.

Officers and staff of the NFR headquarters, as well as representatives of various associations and unions, were present on the occasion.

A parallel programme was also organised by the NFR Construction Organisation at the Concourse Hall of the newly constructed General Manager (Construction) office building in Maligaon. The ceremony included floral tributes, readings on the life and contributions of Ambedkar, and reflections on his lifelong commitment to social justice and equality.

Speaking on the occasion, Shrivastava highlighted Ambedkar’s contribution to framing the Constitution and his role in ensuring justice and equality for all sections of society. He also lauded Ambedkar’s efforts towards women’s empowerment and the upliftment of underprivileged communities.

Describing his life as an enduring source of inspiration, the General Manager said Ambedkar’s ideals continue to guide society towards inclusive development and social harmony.
