Maligaon, November 26 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) observed Constitution Day (Samvidhan Diwas) on November 26 at Dr Bhupen Hazarika Sabha Griha, at its headquarters in Maligaon, to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India.
According to a press update, it stated that the programme commenced with the solemn reading of the Preamble to the Constitution, led General Manager, Chetan Kumar Shrivastava.
Senior officers and employees from various departments participated enthusiastically, reaffirming their commitment to the constitutional values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity.
Furthermore, it informed that the NFR (Construction) organisation also marked the occasion at the GM (Construction) office, Maligaon.
Chief Administrative Officer/Construction Shri Anjani Kumar led the gathering in taking the pledge, underscoring the importance of upholding the guiding principles of the Constitution.
Addressing the gathering, Chetan Kumar Shrivastava highlighted the significance of the Constitution as the cornerstone of India’s democracy and emphasised the duty of every citizen and public servant to uphold and protect its principles. He also paid tribute to Dr B R Ambedkar and the members of the Drafting Committee for their monumental contribution.
