NFR observes National Unity Day

Guwahati, November 1 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) on October 31 by paying tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, with main event at the NFR Sports Association (NFRSA), Maligaon as well as similar events across all its five divisions.

At Maligaon, a pledge taking ceremony for oneness and integrity was led by Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, General Manager, NFR.

He also lighted lamp and paid floral tributes to the portrait of Late Patel and recalled his visionary statesmanship and the extraordinary with which he shaped the destiny of the nation. 

Kumar also flagged off a ‘Run for Unity’ from the NFRSA stadium, Maligaon in the morning. 

Railway staffs, officers and their families, sportspersons, RPF & volunteers of Scouts & Guides participated in the run, informed a press release from the CPRO, NFR.
