Tseminyu, November 29 (MExN): Ngada Mini Hornbill festival which began on November 26 concluded at RSA ground, Tseminyu Old town on November 28, where Advisor for Rural Development, Dr. NeikiesalieKire and Advisor for IT, Science & Technology and NRE, Mhonlumo Kikon graced the occasion as Ngada guests.
Advisor for Vety& AH and Women Resources Development, R. Khing while addressing the people at the program as Ngada Chief Host, welcomed the esteemed Ngada Guests to the celebration and delivered words of Ngada greetings.
R. Khing also acknowledged his appreciations towards ADC Tseminyu, NokchasashiAo, Convenor of the organizing committee and various responsible officials for the grand success of the programs.
Ngada guest, Dr. NeikiesalieKire while delivered Ngada greetings to Rengma people on behalf of Government of Nagaland. Dr. Kire also commented and expressed his appreciations for celebrating Ngada mini hornbill festival in a big way as festival of thanksgiving to God and forgiving among people for oneness.
Delivering his address, Dr. Kire said that we should take our celebrations meaningfully, so that there will be a permanent unity and peace in the society. Dr. Kire, therefore, urged upon the people to maintain oneness as christians among the community for betterment of our future.
Speaking on the occasion, Mhonlumo Kikon, expressed his feelings of joy and closeness with Rengma Ngada friends for being invited as Ngada Guest, and delivered Ngada greetings to his neighbouring Rengma community in particular.
He spoke about unity among various communities, in connection to which he said that we all have forgiven and forgot our passed olden life style, now we are living as one, he commented. Kikon, therefore, reminded upon the Rengma brothers and sisters to continue to maintain harmony and friendly living among neighouring communities, so that all round developmental activities can be successfully implemented.
He also informed about road developmental works being undertaking in the State under PDA government and made an appealed to the affected land owners to sincerely exhibit their sacrifices and cooperation with government and contractors in particular for successful completion of the ongoing road constructions in the State. Highlights of the celebrations were folk songs and dances presented by Chogin Range, Lotha Cultural Club (Wokha town Phiro Cultural Club), Tseminyu Lowjvu. Kithagha group, RPO Kohima, and modern song by Rengma Baptist Church Kohima Youth Department. Words of greetings was delivered by president Rengma Officers' Forum.
Kenneth Kath delivered the welcome addressed of the program. Invocation prayer for the celebration program and vote of thanks were delivered by Rev. Fr GL Khing and John Wanth respectively. Thousands of men and women folks of Rengmas, NGO leaders from neighboring Lotha and Sema/Sumi communities and government officials attended the program. Chenonlo Woch as Chairperson, conducted the last day of Ngada mini hornbill festival program.
Twenty six standard Morung/stalls were constructed at the venue by respective villages of Tseminyu sub-division, out of which Morung erected by Teragonyu village was selected the best Morung, where Phensunyu and Tseminyu villages won the second and third best Morung.
