NH-155 in deplorable condition

Dimapur, July 7 (MExN): Commenting on the appalling condition of the stretch of NH-155, which connects Tuensang district with Mokokchung, H. Athrongba Sangtam, secretary, Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC) said that it was in a very deplorable condition. In a press note, the NPYC secretary stated that if repairing works are not initiated soon, the road will become completely deplorable, which will hamstring the normal activities of the people of Tuensang district.
“It is in fact abstruse to notice the imperturbable attitude of the department and the authorities concern towards the difficulties and the problems faced by the public of Tuensang district, despite the repeated appeal by the denizens of Tuensang to improve the road condition for the interest of the common people,” he stated. He also said that the deplorable road conditions of NH -155 and the lack of improvement of roads in the far flung Eastern Nagaland areas also questions failure of the Government and the lack of sincerity of the department and the authority entrusted with the work in the areas.
The NPYC secretary in the note requested the government and authorities in charge to initiate road improvement work at the earliest. It also mentioned that the people of Tuensang will not tolerate any individual, groups or departments trying to do away with the needs and difficulties faced by the people of the area. The note also appealed to all the contractors and authorities concern working in the Eastern Nagaland areas to see that work allotted and entrusted to them are properly done and completed at the earliest, as “the patience of the people are
running out”.
