DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 9 (MExN): Dimapur based North East India Academy of Performing Arts (NIAPA) will be introducing an internationally acclaimed diploma course in beauty care courtesy CIDESCO (International Committee of Aesthetics and Cosmetology). NIAPA media and publicity director, Atsaba Sangtam informed on Friday, September 9.
A one-year course, it will begin from July next year. CIDESCO professionals from Switzerland will conduct classes here, throughout the duration of the course particularly for this course. The intake is a limited 20 seats out of which a few seats will be offered to interested students from outside the state. It was further added that the course will be independently run by CIDESCO with NIAPA acting as a promoter. The fee structure is yet to be finalized.
The CIDESCO Diploma is acclaimed to be the world’s most prestigious professional course in aesthetics and beauty therapy setting standards that have been imitated the world over. Founded in 1946, CIDESCO is headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland and has presence in thirty countries comprising of over 230 schools around the world.
Further, Sangtam said that NIAPA’s collaboration with India’s leading cosmetic brands marketer JCKRC & Co is bearing fruit. The academy has made a deal with the company only in July this year with the objective of opening up employment avenues for trainees passing out from NIAPA. JCKRC has a strong foothold in importing, distributing and marketing high-end European and American aesthetic brands throughout the country and is also partly known for revolutionising the spa industry in India.
“Since our collaboration with JCKRC, the academy is getting positive exposure”, said Sangtam. Employment offers for students of the academy are already pouring in from some of the big names in the hospitality sector, he said. Eight of the academy’s students have received placement offers at the Grand Hayatt, Caressaa Day Spa Peninsula Grand, JCB Salons (Jean Claude Biguine) and Caressaa Day Spa Juhu. They will start working from October, he said.
NIAPA also announced the introduction of six international beauty brands, which will be exclusively marketed by the academy here. Some of the brands include Remy Laure France, Babor, Phytomer, Silicium and Oligodermie.
