Niketu exhorts TSUK 14th annual session

Executive Council of Tikhir Students’ Union Kohima with Niketu Iralu, Trustee, Initiative of Change (India) during its 14th annual session on August 27 last.
 
Kohima, August 31 (MExN): The Tikhir Students’ Union Kohima (TSUK) held its 14th annual session on August 27 last with Niketu Iralu, Trustee, Initiative of Change (India) as the chief guest. Pastor Tikhir Fellowship Kohima invoked the God’s blessing followed by welcome address by Yongchem, special number by Pentsu & friends and presidential address by Tsusuthong.
Addressing the session, Iralu encouraged the students and Tikhir in common to preserve ones own culture and stand for the truth. He emphasized on the character of truth, honesty, courage and realization of self importance which was based on his own life experiment and also spoke on Gandhi’s autobiography ‘My Experience With Truth’. He also spoke on the upliftment of one’s culture and tradition rather than preserving modern culture and said these need a balanced culture.
Quiz competition also marked the session in which ‘Hingu group’ and ‘wong wong group’ were declared as Ist and 2nd respectively. Later, in a general meeting, resolution was reviewed and additions were made. Advisory Board which existed before has been omitted and instead executive committee was set up with P. Timong as a chairman and Meren as a secretary along with three other members. Vote of thanks was proposed by Temong while Seotingla said benediction. This was stated in a release issued by TSUK vice president Luyankiu and general secretary Rebekha.
