Niki-led NSCN (K) clarifies stance

Dimapur, July 21 (MExN): The Niki-led NSCN (K) on Wednesday reiterated that it has not come out to point fingers at others or to create enmity but to pave way for peace to prevail in the land.

Stating that it is confounded by the statements being generated by “certain Naga political groups,” the group issued a press release through its MIP saying that “at the end of the day if any political solution is to be arrived at, it will be with the government of India and all stakeholders among Nagas.”

“It is very unfortunate that some Naga political groups are creating unwanted situation by repeatedly hurling unfounded and baseless allegation at NSCN/GPRN. Any matured and responsible organization/government will try to be efficient and fulfilling in the expectation of the people rather than always trying to find fault in others,” it added.

When it comes to Nagas of all hues, NSCN/ GPRN has never questioned as to who goes where to achieve our inherent political rights, it said, adding that all national workers are at liberty to choose which ever political group they want to work under.

Choosing not to name any groups, it alleged that “double standards” shown by certain political groups who indulge in “cheap publicity” is out in the open for all to see, and that there can be only one Naga political solution inclusive of all Nagas at the end of the day.

“NSCN/GPRN being included as a third entity doesn't espouse or encourage mudslinging or divisions among our Naga brethren or believe that it would culminate in an amiable and inclusive political solution,” the release stated. It further said that the group is not delusional to believe that there can be multiple numbers of peace or political solutions, “as it is a factual reality that Nagas as one unified people and one nation can only have a singular unified political settlement as there are no two ways about it.”
