Niuland, January 16 (MExN): The Niuland District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held at the DC Conference Hall, Niuland on January 16.
Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of the DPDB, Sara S Jamir, who chaired the meeting, declared 2026 as “The Year of Plantation” and urged the concerned department officers to make necessary preparations for its successful implementation.
During the meeting, the deputy commissioner reviewed the achievements and ongoing activities in the district and requested all officers to outline their respective department-wise plans and activities for the year 2026.
District Fisheries Officer, Fisheries Department, Dr Amenla, made a detailed presentation on the department’s development activities and undertakings in the district over the past three years.
Highlighting the potential of the fisheries sector, the deputy commissioner said that the fishery market in the district has good prospects and urged the department to explore effective marketing strategies that could boost the district’s economy. She also suggested the department submit a proposal for setting up a fish farm and organise a fish festival in the district.
Kiphire DPDB Urges Pending Departments to Register on SHE-BOX
The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting of Kiphire district was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Longdiba L Sangtam, at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Kiphire on January 15.
Addressing the meeting, the ADC welcomed the newly inducted members and those present, and extended New Year greetings to all board members. He also reviewed the minutes of the previous DPDB meeting.
Following the review, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Kiphire, Rozy Sangtam, briefed the house on the distribution of responsibilities for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations scheduled to be held on January 26 in Kiphire.
Superintendent of Police, Kiphire, Chinise Chakasang, expressed special appreciation to officers and staff of the district administration, medical department and District Public Relations Office (DPRO) for the successful conduct of the recent Nagaland Police constable recruitment drive and rehearsals in the district. He informed that the Republic Day parade rehearsal would commence only after the written examination scheduled for January 20, 2026.
Meanwhile, Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC), Kiphire, Takatemjen Pongen, reminded departments that are yet to register on the Sexual Harassment Electronic Box (SHE-BOX) platform to complete the registration at the earliest.
