Dimapur, June 24 (MExN): During a time when Nagaland is set to vote for the ULB elections, the Nagaland Joint Christian Forum (NJCF) has urged the public to vote with much prayer and Christian conscience and vote for the right candidate who will represent us in the urban setting.
It has also appealed candidates contesting in the ensuing ULB elections to take the opportunity to give a fair fight without outside interference and not to intimidate with money power.
In a press release issued by its Vice President, Rev Dr N Paphino pointed out that for a long time “we have not had the opportunity to look after our own affairs,” while at the same time added that the local body election is a domestic affairs with the “intention to bring the much needed development in the colonies in the urban sectors.”
The NJCF said the local body election is a hard earned effort with the intention to bring change in the grassroots level of our states further appealing not to politicize the ULB elections. He called to have an attitude to know and handle our own problems, adding “our domestic affairs should be looked after by people who are qualified to bring change to our urban sectors.
“The candidates who are running for the different colonies should not be sandwiched between party politics,” the release added.
The NJCF said that, at this time, if we spoil the good intention with dirty politics we may not be able to see whatever is there for us.
The forum also appealed voters to retrospect God's given gift to caste their precious vote with much prayer and Christian conscience and vote for the right candidate who will represent us in the urban setting. It also appealed candidates to play fair game and not to intimidate with money power.
