Mon, December 8 (MExN): The NLCPR project providing water supply by gravity in Aboi, Mon District was inaugurated by Jacob Zhimomi, Minister, PHED Nagaland on December 8.
The project to supply water by gravity system under the Ministry of Development of North Eastern region (DoNER) as part of the Non-Lapsable Central Pool for Resources (NLCPR) was augmented in 2017.
A press release received here stated that in his speech, Zhimomi said ‘Mon was fortunate to receive this project by God's grace and expressed appreciation to be present during the happy occasion.’ Water is an essential medicine in our daily life and people of Aboi and Longching will cut short from hours to minute spending valuable time in fetching water from hills and slope, it stated.
Stating that Nagas to be united, he urged the eastern Nagas ‘to maintain unity and oneness for the greater good of the state.’
The guest of honour, Eshak Konyak, MLA, 47 A/C, Aboi expressed appreciation to the PHED department, the Minister, Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio and others concerned for bringing ‘forth this milestone in Aboi, Mon.’
Earlier, Pastor Rev Yeanphong, Aboi, Town Baptist Church said the dedication prayer for the newly constructed NLCPR Project prior to the inaugural. The programme was chaired by Gwatilo Tep, Superintending Engineer, PHED, Dimapur Circle. Welcome address delivered by Phuselu, ADC, NCS, Aboi.
Presenting the technical report, Repangyanba Longkumer, Chief Engineer & HOD, PHED, Nagaland informed that the estimated cost was Rs 965,98 Lakh, funding by Government of India, Ministry of DoNER and State Government (90:10).
