NLSF for students’ safety and smooth conduct of examination

Kohima, October 1 (MExN):  The Nagaland Law Students Federation (NLSF) has sought the immediate intervention of the Member Secretary, Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) for the smooth conduct of odd semester (offline) LLB examination.

The Federation briefed the NSLSA office that owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tentative examination scheduled for the LLB 1st, 3rd and 5th Semester had been put on hold for more than six months.

With the declaration of the tentative examination for LLB odd semester (offline mode) beginning from October 5, the NLSF expressed apprehension regarding the conduct of examination during the pandemic.

It highlighted that many students of the three law colleges in the State - Kohima Law College, Mokokchung Law College and City Law College, Dimapur, would face difficulties and challenges in numerous ways on their way to sit for the examination.

The Federation stated that outstation students from far-flung areas and certain students from the neighboring States may face non availability of safe and public transport. It also added that students arriving for the examination may be affected by closure of hostels and other accommodation challenges, besides the possibility of being asked to be quarantined. Issues of students’ health and safety, other factors that could hinder the smooth conduct of examination etc. were also raised by the Federation.

In this regard, the NLSF requested the NSLSA to direct the respective district legal services authorities (DLSAs) by issuing necessary steps in the interest and safety of law students.
