NMA protests bail to Pimla murder accused, seeks govt intervention

KOHIMA, AUGUST 16 (MExN): The Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) has expressed solidarity with the Zeliangrong Mepui Organisation and strongly protested against the bail granted to all prime accused in the murder of a young mother at Pimla.

In a statement, the NMA appealed to the Nagaland government to intervene and ensure justice in the case. It said the Association had earlier met the Dimapur Commissioner of Police to expedite the investigation and enforce punitive measures under law.

The NMA urged the new Dimapur Police Commissioner to take cognisance of the petition filed by the former Commissioner in court and ensure the prime accused remain in custody till the trial is completed.

Calling the Pimla incident a heinous crime, the Association appealed to all Naga women to stand united for justice.
