DIMAPUR, MAY 13 (MExN): The Naga National Council (NNC) has appealed to Naga people, “in the Homeland and abroad, to observe the Naga National Plebiscite Day on May 16, 2014, as we have been doing every year as our democratic right for sovereignty.” The NNC Information and Publicity Wing today stated that Naga people “must observe” the day “with prayer and dedication for the right Cause of Naga Freedom.” “This is the Day the Naga people should openly observe our democratic right conducted sixty three years ago in front of both the Governments of India and Myanmar,” it said. “Today some provinces in other country like Ukraine are conducting Plebiscite (Referendum) for their freedom of sovereignty. So why should the Naga people remain silent when we have democratic right for freedom of sovereignty?” it posed.
